Generals Shut Out WildCats in Men’s Lacrosse Action

Prince Charles tries to evade a defender

LEXINGTON, Va. – The Randolph College men's lacrosse team fell, 22-0, to host and Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) opponent Washington and Lee University on Wednesday evening.

The Generals secured a comfortable 10-0 advantage at the conclusion of the opening quarter before outscoring the WildCats, 5-0, in the second period to hold a 15-0 margin at halftime. Coming out of the break Washington and Lee continued its march up the scoreboard, shutting out Randolph in the final two quarters to cement the 22-0 victory. 

Prince Charles (Virginia Beach, Va./Cape Henry Collegiate) fired off four shots for the WildCats while scooping up four ground balls, causing three turnovers and winning 6-of-14 faceoffs. James Greenfield (Woodbridge, Va./C.D. Hylton) also picked up four ground balls in the loss while Brett Pausic (Saluda, Va./Christchurch) recorded three shots for Randolph. 

William Doyle (Louisville, Ky./Louisville Collegiate) earned the loss in goal, facing 14 shots and making four saves. Connor Dobbins (Palmyra, Va./Fluvanna County) racked up 30 minute of action in the crease and also recorded four saves for the WildCats while facing 11 shots. 

Randolph drops to 3-13, 0-9 ODAC and will close out its season at home on Saturday, April 27 when the WildCats host Guilford College at 1 p.m.
