BRIDGEWATER, Va.- The Randolph men's lacrosse team travelled to Bridgewater on Saturday to face the Eagles in an ODAC matchup. BC used a big third quarter run to break away from the WildCats and win 18-6.
The Eagles scored three times in the opening quarter to lead 3-0. Randolph got on the scoreboard with 4:50 remaining in the second quarter on a Brett Pausic (Saluda, Va./Christchurch) solo score. Pausic would later assist Jordan Stanley (Mechanicsville, Va./Lee-Davis) on the man-up opportunity with 2:54 to play in the quarter. Despite trailing 6-2 at the break, the WildCats felt they were still within reach of a victory.
In the second half, the Eagles tallied nine straight scores to pull away from the 'Cats and lead 15-2. Sean Landis (Williamsburg, Va./Lafayette) stopped the Bridgewater scoring streak with an unassisted goal with 2:04 remaining in the period.
Randolph did outscore BC 3-2 in the fourth quarter. The 'Cats scored three straight times including two man-up scores.
Pausic ended with one goal and two assists on the afternoon. He now has a team-high 30 goals and 24 assists. Gage Tukto (Manassas, Va./Osbourn) scored his 18th goal of the year. Also scoring were Jack Dolan (Dumfries, Va./Potomac) and Lee Tookes (Chester, Va./Thomas Dale). For Tookes, it was his second career goal.
William Doyle (Louisville, Ky./Louisville Collegiate) got the start in goal and turned away 13 shots. Corey Boswell (Stafford, Va./Brooke Point) picked up two saves with Connor Dobbins (Palmyra, Va./Fluvanna County) tallying six saves. Prince Charles (Virginia Beach, Va./Cape Henry Collegiate) scooped up seven groundballs.
Randolph will next play Washington and Lee. Game time on Wednesday will be at 7:00 p.m.
