LYNCHBURG, Va. -- With two weeks until the start of the 2014 fall seasons, Randolph's athletes have started to arrive for preseason preparation.
The student-athletes from Randolph's women's soccer and men's and women's cross country teams are the first to descend on Main Hall today, with practices starting Saturday for all three squads.
The first competitions for these programs will be on Friday, Aug. 29.
Men's soccer and volleyball will complete the process on Sunday, as their practices will begin on Monday morning ahead of their Aug. 30 openers.
Nearly 100 student-athletes total will make the early trip onto campus to take advantage of the opportunity to practice before the starts of their respective seasons.
"Move-in day is always exciting," said Tina Hill, Randolph's director of athletics. "Our students bring campus back to life and we set our sights on out-performing the year before."
"For our first-year students, that will be a daunting task," she continued. "We accomplished great feats last year, including setting six program records for wins and the crowning of an equestrian national champion. I can't wait to see what the new year brings."
